Checking your HVAC system
It is important to keep your HVAC unit running efficiently throughout the year. Any issues with the unit have to be dealt by a professional only then you will be able to retain the efficiency of your HVAC unit. Running your HVAC system with a clogged filter is not good as it can damage the unit. If ever you notice a reduced air flow then remove the filters and clean or replace it. Just hold the filter up in sunlight and check if it is blocked. If sunlight is not passing then it means that the filters are blocked and need to be cleaned or changed. Apart from the air filters you need to also check all other parts of the unit regularly. Call for a professional service at least once or twice a year. Such services will ensure more durability for your HVAC unit. Sometimes the gas valve may have corroded. Over time these valves get corroded and need to be replaced. The gas valves are used for heating. If these valves are corroded then the flow will be obstructed thus affecting the functioning of the unit.
Thermostat is an important component of the HVAC unit. Most of the time there won’t be any problem but will be turned at the wrong setting or will be turned off. Check your thermostat setting and confirm whether it is set at the right temperature. After checking and setting it to the right temperature if you find that it is still not working then call a professional and get it fixed.
